Chip Float - Can't Pull The Double Shifts Anymore

Mother Nature threw some rain on the Great Lake State this weekend but thankfully at 10 AM on Saturday in Mt Pleasant, the rain stopped and the clouds broke free for a beautiful float down the mighty Chippewa River. The fish were there but not as abundant as previous years. A gold star to Eddie and Mike for navigating their canoes while Al and Doke fished. There were a few "wo wo" moments but thankfully nobody took a drink in the river. We literally had the river to ourselves.
I did come to the realization this weekend that I just can't pull the double shift of celebrating (responsible celebrating) anymore. I made it to 10 PM last night and was shocked I made it that late. Old man riverrrrrr!!!!
Good time with some good people.

weekend - Van Halen and friends holding fish

Friends gathering is a good thing and gather we did this weekend. The festivities started Friday evening for the Van Halen show at Pine Knob. David Lee was a bit behind on the vocals but the rest of the band was sounding quite well; some great B sides.
Not to be outdone, this pack of forty-somethings were up at the crack of dawn Saturday for some fishing on St. Clair. We didn't slay them but the old saying of "the worst day fishing is better than the best day of work" applies here.
